Dr. Lauren K. Szolomayer is a Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained orthopedic surgeon. Raised in the Boston area, she brings a unique blend of expertise and personal experience to the practice.
Dr. Szolomayer’s journey began with a strong foundation in mechanical and aerospace engineering, earning her undergraduate degree from Princeton University. She then worked as an engineer at Boeing, designing satellites, before discovering her passion for medicine. After completing medical school at Tufts University, she pursued an orthopedic surgery residency at Yale University. Dr. Szolomayer further honed her skills during a Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of Connecticut, where she trained alongside renowned surgeons and cared for elite Division 1 athletes.
With a clinical focus on arthroscopic treatments for hip, knee, and shoulder injuries, Dr. Szolomayer specializes in patellofemoral disorders, knee ligament reconstructions, meniscus repairs, shoulder injuries, shoulder replacements, and fracture care. Her approach is patient-centered, using the latest techniques to ensure the best outcomes for her patients.
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Szolomayer enjoys staying active through running, soccer, skiing, and competing in triathlons.
Dr. Szolomayer joined Excel Orthopedics in September 2019 and is currently accepting new patients.
